More than 5,000 protesters blocked the roads around the BBC in a mass protest at its recent reporting on Gaza, all of which has failed to mention that Gaza is under Israeli occupation and siege in contravention of international law.

A week ago, over 100 BBC employees signed an open letter to their Director General, Tim Davie, accusing the British broadcaster of acting as the mouthpiece of the Israeli government during its coverage of Gaza. The letter has been circulated widely, endorsed by 300 other media professionals, and is often referred to as evidence of growing internal dissent over the network’s editorial direction. Owen Jones called it a “devastating letter.”
